I have fallen in love with French bread Vietnamese sandwiches at Tam Deli on North Lamar. Love, I said. I ate half of one and almost swooned.
I have fallen back in love with my Canon Rebel 2000. Eric, Dan, and I walked along the railroad tracks in my neighborhood and took pictures this evening, and it felt really good, plus I'd forgotten how nice it is to have a kickass zoom lens. I tend to get delighted with new things to the complete exclusion of the old--film! digital! iron-ons! linoleum block prints! buttons! sitting on the couch and farting a lot!--and as a result, I never really master any of these things. (Except the couch farting; I'm a wizard at that.) So it's nice to come back to something and find it so satisfying. We'll see how the actual pictures turned out.
Speaking of film, Eric, Dan, Wain, Katherine, and I are having a group photo show at End of an Ear at the end of the month. We'll be enlarging a few photos, but the main attraction is going to be the solid wall of everyone's very best 4x6 prints. We met today to discuss logistics: posters, framing, booze. I think it's going to be good.
Oh, and I continue to be in love with swimming. I'm going to have to join the stupid gym by my house just so I can use their lap pool when it gets colder. There are year-round pools here, but I know myself, and myself just isn't going to make time to drive all the way across town every day to swim laps, no matter how fun it is.
Ok, I have to go do my chores. Pictures tomorrow if I like them.
