I drive a basic Japanese compact sedan. It's a 2000. It's silver. It looks like so very many other cars.
Even though I've had it for almost five years, I am constantly walking up to silver Hyundais, Hondas, Toyotas, Mitsubishis, and once even a Jaguar, with my keys in my hand. I stand dazed at their doors for a second, blinking, until I realize it's not my car. Then I pivot, walk away, and hope the owner doesn't see me and think I'm trying to steal it.
I could avoid this problem if I'd just ride my bike more often. It's silver too, but it's usually the only one on the rack with bright green stickers and a glittery seat.
