The new computer is fast and has a pleasant, satisfying hum. I hadn't really cared about the color, but we happened to end up with a black and silver monitor, printer, and CPU. It looks damn fine. I feel sexy just writing on it.
Right now Eric is making a Big-Ass Salad and opening Belgian beers for dinner. We started going out eight years ago today. We had a really fun first date: he came to get me from my shift at 7-Eleven on his bike. We rode to Star Seeds--which back then was still just crappy old Stars Cafe--and ate cheese fries. Then we went back to my apartment and drank Jack Daniels and played Scrabble late into the night. We've been having fun dates ever since.
The weekend was otherwise pleasant but uneventful. A nice barbecue at Choo's, computer configuration, a disastrous visit to a Vietnamese restaurant (Sunflower may be tasty, but its staff is full-bore evil: avoid). Also lots of sleep and rain.
I'm going to eat my salad now, clean the kitchen, and watch The Wire.
